I dislocated my shoulder today at the gym, and i wanted to kno what shuold i do to maintain my muscle mass until i can fully recover. Maybe protein shakes? also could this be a good time to concentrate on walking and stationary bike to burn fat?you are going to lose mass.. its inevitable, shift your diet. take in more protein, frequently. probably about 1 1/2 grams protein per pound body weight to keep your muscles fed, while slightly lowering carb intake to keep calorie count about the same. you can go ahead with some cardio work but keep it limited as this may also add to muscle wasting. i wouldnt go more than 20 minute sessions. take the time off o recooperate, both physically and mentally. when you are fully healed, you should be refueled both physically and mentally and be back to hitting the gym harder than ever.. the mass you lose will come back after a few weeks of training
