Bridges put on next weekend.?

So I am having two bridges put in next week, on my top two front teeth. Reason is I have two crowns and under one, my body is reabsorbing the root, and my other tooth there is an abscess. So how exactly does the procedure work for putting in bridges. Is it painful? How long do you think it will take? Do they recommend anything after the procedure to follow up with i.e taking medications to prevent infection or pain, what type? Anything else I should know. Also can I still bite into corn and other delicios food?I had a crown put in to replace my 2 front teeth. This was at least 8 years ago, Someone closed a gate on me causing me to lose a front tooth. The crown connected my remaining front tooth with the side tooth.I had been warned that many people who have front crowns either have a gap showing above the fake white tooth or have the white tooth go up extremely high ( like a horse tooth ) which doesn't appear well at allI was able to pursuade my dentist to bake on enamel colored pink above the tooth on the bridge rather than leave a gap or have it all white like a horse's tooth. My dentist had been practicing for 20 years and he had never tried this. It turned out just great. The procedure wasn't painful. It still looks great. But you have to be careful to keep the bridge clean from plaque, otherwise the gums will grow backward exposing the metal base of the bridge. Use a water pick, brush religiously, floss do all the right things to preserve your new bridge
